Spitfires.com, formerly known as Boultbee Flight Academy, was the first company in the world approved to give passenger flights in Spitfires, and is the first and only accredited Spitfire pilot training school. We have completed over 1000 Spitfire flights this season, and provide the highest level of safety equipment including military approved pilot helmets, for our customers.

Spitfires were originally designed to operate from grass airfields, and that’s what we have at Goodwood Aerodrome, the headquarters of Spitfires.com. However we appreciate that the south coast is a long way to come for many of our customers and as a result we have opened 9 more bases utilising hard surface runways across the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands.

Seeing white cliffs over the wing of the Spitfire is a part of the flight experience that most people want. Our shortest flight experience from Solent Airport will get you to the Needles in six minutes giving you time to do some aerobatics, fly yourself and get back. And a slightly longer fight from Goodwood will get you to Beachy Head. The white cliffs of Dover are also possible from either location.

The most memorable part of the Spitfire flight experience for most people is the moment they are given control of the aircraft themselves. Some people like to just try it for a few seconds. Others want significantly longer. We will always adapt to what the customer wants. No previous experience required!

As you might expect, the Spitfire is an exceptionally maneuverable and powerful aircraft. To get a sense of what it is capable of we offer the chance to try all the aerobatics that you'll have ever witnessed if you've seen a Spitfire display at an airshow, such as rolls and loops. Of course you don't have to, but it would be a shame not to do a victory roll!

Your Spitfire flight will be incredible. That we can promise. But how nice would it be for your family to be able to share it with you? Not just on the ground, but airborne too? We have approval to fly a Chase plane in formation with your Spitfire that up to 5 of your family members and friends can take to the air in to accompany you... and maybe even get a photo for your mantlepiece!

With three 2-Seat Spitfires in house we will always have a a spare ready to go on the day of your flight so technical issues that can can affect these vintage aircraft will not have to affect your adventure.

All of our Spitfires are maintained by our own in-house engineers meaning there is always someone on hand to fix or advise on minor issues if they arise. This makes for the safest possible environment in which to have a Spitfire flight.

We know that most people want to fly Spitfires in the summer so we offer most of our experiences during these months however we now also offer flights throughout the winter too for those who wish to take advantage of some of the nicer winter days we get.

We are very proud of our country's history, and flying the Spitfire daily commemorates the bravery of previous generations that enables us to enjoy the lives we do today. But we also love the planet and its future is very important to us too, so we donate a percentage of every purchase through Stripe Climate to scale carbon removal technology to help offset the effect of the experiences we offer.
